LOOPEZ Anchoring System Instructions
CAUTION: Read these and prior cautions before using this product.
1) Select proper style and size LOOPEZ restraint unit. 3/4", 7/8" at present to fit into holes to be used. (If no holes are provided, you may drill appropriate holes in desired location)
2) Make sure to have plastic bell (on the end of rope with loop) just past the flaring-plug and insert into desired hole, making sure flaring-plug fits flush with surrounding surface. With thumb and finger, hold flaring-plug flush to surface and pull loop-rope out until acheiving a snug fit and the rope will not pull out any farther.
3) The LOOPEZ tie-down/fastener is now ready to be used to attach your desired holding hardware, such as: stretch cords, ratchet, motorcycle straps, or rope type hold-downs.
4) TO release the LOOPEZ tie down unit: Remove stretch cords, ratchet, motorcycle straps, or rope type hold-downs used in conjunction with the LOOPEZ fastening system. Place thumb and finger approx. 1-1/2" on rope behind the flaring-plug, and force rope towards the flaring-plug to push the bell free. Then while rope is slack, pull the flaring-plug with the flange away from mounting surface.
5) Check tie-down tightness every 25-30 miles and adjust as needed.
6) LOOPEZ fastening systems are especially designed to be used with "S-hook" and "J-hook" tie down hardware.
Hollow braided Dacron rope costs more, but has far greater resistance to abrasion, even in smaller diameters, and they are nearly unaffected by UV and chemicals. The actual cost to use Dacron rope can be far less expensive in the long run, and is superior to the lower cost Poly or standard Nylon ropes. The hollow braided rope used by LOOPEZ is 5/8" and has a tensile strength of 2,200 pounds.
